Steampunk 2

Hello Friends, above is the second Illustration I did for Polluto Magazine. I had a lot of fun with this one and I personally love the background. From start to finish, I did this one in about 20 hours.
Now I can start unpacking and get my temporary studio set up. I am staying with a good friend until I can find a house I like. Things have been wild lately, in a good way. Once I find my new home I will start painting in oils again as well. So I figure the next 2 months will be very busy.
While this all is going on I will blog as much as time permits, and give updates. I hope to get back to the painting I showed you the sketches to while all this is going on, but paying jobs would be good too.
So until I can be back regularly, stay well, and I will be back soon!

The nightmare ends...............

Finally, we can all breath again. I was really hoping that someone would grab Bush by his collar and the seat of his pants, and kick him like a field goal out of Washington. The Bush nightmare hurt all of us, each and everyone. Personally I went from making 100 g's to 20 g's. Big frigging change, and all the while that half-wit lined his pockets with money from the big oil company's.
I know its gonna be at least a year before things start to recover, but at least now I have faith that they will. My heart goes out to all the people that lost their homes and investments. But all of us lost a lot, including the parents of children put into a war that was insane and it should have never happened.
Above is my first steam punk piece. At present, I am doing my second. I really love the look of steam punk and the ideals behind it. I don't know about you but I am partying tonight. I really believe in Obama and I expect great things for our country under his guidance.
Peace and Blessings to all.

Sweet Changes, exciting news and prosperity.

Hello my friends. I've been very busy doing art assignments and other things. Above is my version of a Metallic Dragon, done for Hero Games. It will be in a new book they are publishing called "The Book of Dragons" I did 3 illustrations in all for it. You can find out more about Hero Games at
http://www.herogames.com This is a wonderful company to work for and I am thrilled to be working for them.
I also landed a new gig with a British Publishing company, Dog Horn press. This a class act as well and they publish everything from novels, magazines, art books and Graphic novels. The owner of the company really likes my work and I have a feeling that I will be working with them for a very long time to come.
I decided a year ago that I was going to quit working in publishing, except for commitments I had previously made, and just concentrate on building a new portfolio develop the skills I had been taught by Master Daniel Horne and Todd Lockwood. Well, it was the best decision I've made in a long time concerning my art and now it is paying off.
My second goal that I made last year was that when I came back that I would work on building long term clients. So far, so good. So it seems that when I make decisions for myself, instead of letting others do it for me, I am much better off.
In my last blog I mentioned some big news. Well, it has come to pass and the news is this. I live up north now. I live close to the big time publishers so I can visit them in person now. I lived in my home state of North Carolina for many years, but I felt like I needed a big change, so I made one and I am thrilled. My art is much more received here more than it ever was in the deep south. It's gonna take some time to get use to all the snow, but I love snow. I feel like this is a new chapter in my life and it's going to be a good one.
Well, back to work I go. Peace and Blessings to you.

Welcome 2009!

Above are 2 sketches from a painting I am working on when I have free time, which I don't get much of these days. Since I started sending letters out to publishers, I am staying very busy. Some of that work I can share with you, but some I can't because of the terms of the contracts.
I had a nice holiday, but I worked most of it, which I enjoyed doing. I'm just glad 2009 is finally here. 08 bit the big one. I don't know anyone that prospered from it. Print and art sales where off for everyone. I just pray that Obama can turn this mess around, and fix all the problems that a half-wit president has caused for all of us. Even the Republicans are saying that Bush is the worse president in US history, and the world agrees.
I have some really big news to tell you about in the near future, but for now I want to keep it quiet. Trust me, Its big! Well, I just ain't got much to say today, but I wanted to post so people would know I was still alive. lol See you soon!
